Recoup on Telegram

Recoup's Telegram group, t.me/recoupfi, has a bot, @RecoupFiBot, that posts what the protocol does, read from its own contracts. The same bot can message you privately about a wallet you link, and it answers the commands listed below.

Last updated · Written by Recoup

What does the bot post in the group?

The bot posts what happens on Recoup's contracts on Base, read from the chain itself: loans, mints, deposits, harvests, auctions, milestones and a daily update.

  • New loans and mints. A wallet's first loan, and bonds minted through Recoup with the bonds now in Recoup's vault. Once there are many borrowers, new loans are counted in the daily update instead.
  • The lender pool. Each deposit and withdrawal, and every deposit post carries the line "Lending can lose money" with a link to the risks. A post when the deposit cap is raised, as the pool fills towards its cap, and when it is full.
  • Harvests. Each weekly harvest of bond yield, and how it was split.
  • Loans paid off. When a loan's debt reaches zero, and what paid it.
  • The bond value. Every accepted update of the bond value (the oracle NAV), an update held for review, a post if borrowing pauses because the value is out of date, and one when it resumes.
  • Auctions. When a liquidation auction starts, with its price and time left, and when it sells. Also when one is cancelled or moves to a workout.
  • Milestones and records. Round numbers, such as value locked or yield harvested, and new highs, such as the largest harvest. Also harvest streaks, and a note when the next harvest window opens.
  • The daily update and the Monday recap. The key figures once a day from 14:00 UTC, and a recap with a picture card every Monday. On a day when nothing moved, the daily update is one line.

Posts name a wallet only by its short address, linked to the block explorer. No post says a loan is in trouble before an auction has started on it.

The bot reads the chain every 2 hours, so a post can arrive up to 2 hours after what it describes. When a lot happens at once, posts of one kind are folded into a single summary line.

Most posts are silent: Telegram delivers them without a notification sound. Quiet hours are 23:00 to 07:00 UTC, and then every post is silent except an auction starting or selling.

WHICH POSTS MAKE A SOUND

Outside quiet hours these make a sound: the daily update, the Monday recap, a harvest, a loan paid off, an auction starting or selling, a milestone or record, a deposit cap raise, a full pool, and borrowing pausing or resuming. Everything else is silent, and so is the one-line daily update on a day when nothing moved.

How do I get private alerts?

Link your wallet to the bot from the app: you sign one message, which proves the wallet is yours and moves no funds.

  1. Open app.recoup.fi/positions and connect the wallet that holds the loan. A lender can use app.recoup.fi/lend once the wallet holds pool shares or a withdrawal request.
  2. Press Get Telegram alerts and sign the message your wallet shows you. It starts "app.recoup.fi wants you to link this wallet to Recoup Telegram alerts". Signing costs no gas and sends no transaction.
  3. Press Open Telegram, then Start in the chat with @RecoupFiBot. The link works once and expires after 10 minutes.

The bot replies with what it will message you about. One link covers the wallet's loan and its lending. A chat can link up to 3 wallets. A wallet with several signers has to collect every signature within the same 10 minutes.

Auction alerts need no wallet: send /auctionalerts on to @RecoupFiBot in a private chat.

What will the bot message me about?

About each wallet you linked: its loan's health, an auction on it, its payoff, what yield has paid off, and its lending.

Your loan

  • Health. A message when your loan's health factor falls below 1.50, 1.20 and 1.05, once for each on the way down. Below 1.00 a loan can be liquidated. A level fires again only after health has recovered to 0.02 above it, and a level the loan is already below when you link it stays quiet until health recovers. Add a level of your own with /alerts 1.30, anything from 1.06 to 3.00.
  • An auction on your loan. A message if one starts, with its price and when it ends.
  • Paid off. A message when the debt reaches $0.
  • Every Monday. What bond yield paid off your loan that week, sent from 14:00 UTC.
  • Every harvest. A picture card of what yield paid off, and a card when yield has repaid 25%, 50% and 75% of what you borrowed. The cards show no wallet address.

Your lending

  • A withdrawal request can be paid. A message once at least $1 of it can be moved to claimable.
  • USDC is ready to collect. A message when USDC the pool set aside for you is waiting.
  • The pool marks down a loss. A message while you hold shares or a request, when the pool marks down loans in liquidation or writes one off.

Each is sent once, when it changes.

Auctions you might bid on

/auctionalerts on sends a message when any auction starts. /auctionalerts 80 sends one, once per auction, when a live auction's price per bond falls below 80% of the bond value; any whole number from 68 to 99 works. /auctionalerts off stops both.

Referral rewards

Referral rewards cannot be claimed today, so the bot sends no referral alert.

HOW OFTEN THE BOT CHECKS

The bot checks for private alerts about every 15 minutes. Each check sends at most 20 messages, about a second apart, warnings about a loan first, and the rest wait for the next check. A message Telegram does not accept is tried again on later checks, 3 times in all, and then dropped. A message whose delivery was not confirmed can arrive twice.

Can I rely on the alerts?

No. Alerts are best effort: they can arrive late or not at all, and they are no substitute for watching your own position.

ALERTS ARE BEST EFFORT
The checks run on outside schedulers. GitHub runs the group feed and delays or skips scheduled runs, and the private checks run on a separate timer that can miss too. Telegram can delay a message or refuse it. The bond value can move a long way between two checks. Check your loan yourself at app.recoup.fi/positions, and never wait for a message before you act.

If you block the bot, it stops messaging you. Press Start in the chat again to turn messages back on.

What commands does the bot answer?

Every command is in the table below, with where it works: in the group, in a private chat with the bot, or both.

THE BOT'S COMMANDS
CommandWorks inWhat it answers
/statsGroupThe key figures read live: value locked, what is owed, open loans by health, the lender pool, the insurance fund and the bond value, each with its move since the last daily update.
/navGroupThe bond value (the oracle NAV), how long it stays fresh, and any update on hold for review.
/healthGroupHow healthy the open loans are: how many at each health, the median, and where liquidation starts.
/yieldGroupWhat the bonds paid over the last 12 weeks. History, not a promise.
/epochGroupThe last harvest, how it was split, and when the next one can happen.
/auctionsGroupEvery live auction: the price per bond now, the whole lot, and the time left.
/borrowcalc 250Group and private chatWhat 250 bonds could borrow at the bond value now, and the bond value at which a loan that size could be liquidated.
/leaderboardGroup and private chatThis month's most-used referral codes, by code only, and only codes whose owners chose to show them.
/links (also /official)Group and private chatThe official links, and the reminder that admins never message you first.
/helpGroup and private chatThe commands that work in the chat you ask in.
/startGroup and private chatA welcome with the official links. In a private chat it also points to the group and to alerts, and the link from the app uses it to link your wallet.
/positionPrivate chatEach linked wallet now: its health, what is owed against how many bonds, anything waiting to be claimed, and what yield has paid since you linked it. Add an address to look up any wallet.
/alertsPrivate chatYour linked wallets and alert settings. /alerts 1.30 adds a health level of your own and /alerts clear removes it.
/auctionalertsPrivate chatAdd on for a message when any auction starts, a number such as 80 for one when a live auction's price falls below that share of the bond value, or off to stop both.
/share (also /journey)Private chatYour latest harvest or milestone card again, at most once every 10 minutes.
/mycodePrivate chat/mycode CODE shows your referral code on the leaderboard, /mycode off hides it, and /mycode alone shows what is held and what your linked wallets have accrued from referrals.
/stopPrivate chatAsks the bot to unlink every wallet and delete your settings and alert history, and says what stays until it expires.

Send a private-chat command in the group and the bot answers with a one-line pointer, so nobody's wallet is discussed there. Send a group command in a private chat and it tells you to ask in the group, where everyone sees the same figures. In the group each command answers at most once every 30 seconds. In a private chat only /position and /borrowcalc wait between answers, and the bot says so when they do.

What does the bot keep about me?

Your Telegram chat's id, the wallets you linked and your alert settings, and /stop deletes them.

  • Your chat's id, up to 3 wallet addresses, and when each was linked.
  • Your settings: your own health level, auction alerts, the price alert, and the referral code you chose to show on the leaderboard.
  • For each linked wallet, what the alert checks need so they do not repeat themselves: which health levels have fired, its debt over time for your cards, and its lending and referral figures, all from the public chain.
  • A note if you blocked the bot, so it stops trying.

The store holds no name, username or phone number. The group never sees which chat linked which wallet.

Send /stop in your private chat with the bot and all of the above is deleted at once, the shown referral code included. Two kinds of short-lived record stay until they expire on their own: a note that a message was already sent to your chat, kept up to 35 days so it is never sent twice, and rate-limit counters, kept for 10 minutes.

How do I tell the real bot from a fake?

The real bot is @RecoupFiBot and the group is t.me/recoupfi, and neither will ever ask for your seed phrase, a private key or your funds.

  • Check the username, not the name. Anyone can copy the bot's name and picture. Only the username is unique, and it must be exactly @RecoupFiBot, at t.me/RecoupFiBot.
  • The group is t.me/recoupfi. Admins never message you first.
  • The bot messages you first only for alerts you switched on, by linking a wallet or turning auction alerts on. Anyone else who messages you first as Recoup is not Recoup.
  • Nobody from Recoup asks for secrets or money. Not your seed phrase, not a private key, not a payment to "verify" a wallet. The only thing you sign for the bot is the link message on app.recoup.fi, and it moves no funds.
  • Check where a link goes before you tap it. Long-press it in Telegram to see the full address. The bot's links go to recoup.fi, app.recoup.fi, basescan.org or back to Telegram, and the share buttons under your own cards open x.com or farcaster.xyz. An app link starts with https://app.recoup.fi/ exactly, with the slash straight after ".fi": app.recoup.fi.example.com or app-recoup.fi is someone else's site. When in doubt, type app.recoup.fi into your browser yourself.
